(Batavia, NY  March14, 2004)  Protestors rallied yesterday for the release of a Pakistani detainee in Genesee County.  Ansar Mahmood was arrested nearly three years ago on charges of harboring illegal aliens.  The Federal Government claims he helped pay the rent for a Pakistani couple who overstayed their visas. 

Mahmood has been in the Federal detention center in Batavia ever since.  Dozens of his supporters believe he has been wrongly imprisoned.  The protestors are requesting the US Government to release Mahmood.  They are also hoping to prevent him from being deported.
